Michelle Ritola, ND is a Naturopathic doctor who graduated from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in 2021. She grew up in SW Washington and received a BS in Biology from Portland State University. After 19 years working as an analyst/chemist in environmental chemistry, she returned to school to study alternative options to address the growing mental health crisis in her community. She concentrated on Integrative Mental Health, Eating Disorders and Transgender Health in her time at NUNM.
Dr. Michelle is a fat positive provider using components of the Health at Every Size® and Intuitive Eating frameworks and is a member of the Association of Size Diversity in Health (ASDAH) and Columbia River Eating Disorder Network (CREDN). She loves finding the root cause of dis-ease as well as helping people feel at peace in their own bodies. Her role at Be Well Holistic Health is adjunctive mental health care, working with her patient’s primary care doctor and other specialists to address mental health in a holistic way. Her special focus is on the neurodiverse and LGBTQIA+ communities.
As a Naturopathic Doctor, Dr. Michelle has multiple options in her toolbox to discover and address the root cause of illness including specialized lab work, herbal remedies, nutraceuticals, lifestyle recommendations, Bach Flower Remedies, homeopathy, and prescription medication when necessary. She is grateful to have the time to listen to her patients and collaborate with them to develop treatment plans that support their goals.
In her leisure time, Dr. Michelle and her wife can be found walking along the river with their Dobrador, Baylee, taking time to have lovely meals with their friends and family, and planning improvements to their 1942 bungalow.
Dr. Michelle is now seeing new adult OHP patients through Be Well Holistic Health.
