Renata Retter

(she/her)

Chiropractic physician

Under the direction of Dr. Bill Moreau, Renata Retter, DC MS CCSP, spent a year immersed in the world of concussion and post-concussion syndrome—an experience that pushed her, challenged her, and ultimately shaped her into the clinician she is today.

What she learned there—neurology, connective tissue disorders, pathways of chronic inflammation, and the intricate connections between these systems—opened the door to the kind of care she felt called to provide. While she truly values the quick wins that chiropractic care can sometimes offer, her deepest passion lies in complex, chronic, nuanced cases where the dots aren’t easily connected and the standard approach isn’t enough.

In addition to her Doctor of Chiropractic, Dr. Retter holds a Master’s Degree in Human Nutrition and Functional Medicine. She has always had an interest in nutrition, especially through the lens of the Health at Every Size approach. She has found that nutrition can make a huge difference, and she strives to make her recommendations accessible, evidence-based, and weight-neutral.

In her years of practice, that passion for complex patients has only intensified. Dr. Retter is particularly drawn to the intersection of traumatic brain injury, dysautonomia, POTS, MCAS, and connective tissue disorders. She finds meaning in working with patients who have been dismissed and spent years searching for answers.

She often describes her most fulfilling clinical encounters as the moments when a patient finally feels seen:

  • A former athlete whose concussion “never fully healed.”
  •  A young adult with brain fog, migraines, racing heart, dizziness, nausea, and profound fatigue.
  • A person with food intolerances but no clear allergy findings.
  •  Someone who has been told over and over that there is nothing wrong—yet knows, deeply, that something is out of balance.

Dr. Retter meets these patients with curiosity, validation, and the ability to explain the physiologic “why” behind their lived experience. She connects the dots—post-concussion syndrome, dysautonomia, POTS, MCAS, hypermobility, menstrual health—and outlines a practical, evidence-informed plan that weaves together exercise intolerance strategies, lifestyle modifications, nutrition, nervous system regulation, and collaborative medical input. Most importantly, she offers something many patients haven’t felt in years: hope.

Dr. Retter continuously builds her expertise, having completed the CCSP® program, joining the ACR concussion registry, and working toward additional credentials including the CBCN and DACNB.

Her mission is simple: to provide thoughtful, informed care to people with complex neurological and systemic conditions—and to ensure they never again feel dismissed or alone in their symptoms.
