(he/him)
Acupuncture Intern
Dr. Chris Gamman is a doctor of traditional Chinese medicine and acupuncture but prior he served in the US Navy as a Corpsman working in the Rehabilitation Medicine department at the Captain James A Lovell Federal Health Care Center in Illinois. There he worked as Physical, Occupational, and Kinesiotherapy as well as some time on the Med-Surg ward working with a mix of both active duty, veterans, and their families.
Working with pain has always been a passion for Chris but it is also what brought him to Chinese medicine in the first place. As a chronic pain patient himself he knows firsthand some of the struggles that come with being in constant pain. Acupuncture was able to largely give him his life back and with his combined experiences he will do his utmost to try and help do the same for his patients.
In addition to just medicine Chris also has a background in horticulture and the creation of herbal products. He has a large passion for cooking and using food as a medicine. Prior to becoming an acupuncturist Chris was an assistant instructor of Tian Shan Pai style kung fu and taiji which he uses to help his patients.
His education is a combination of Navy training and Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine (OCOM) and the degree was issued by National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) after OCOMs closure in 2024 receiving both his Masters and Doctorate degree.
